Important Information Regarding Hurricane Ian

DONATE HERE: Florida Cattlemen's Foundation Hurricane Ian Relief Efforts

Cattlemen,

The Florida Cattlemen’s Association has worked with State Governmental officials to set forth a number of emergency declarations, exemptions, waivers etc. pertaining to the movement of livestock.

Our main Hurricane headquarters for distribution of goods purchased by the Cattlemen’s Foundation and donated by others will remain the Arcadia Stockyard. In conjunction with the Sarasota County Cattlemen's Association, we are opening a second HQ location (to have one on each side of the swollen Peace River) in Myakka City at the Dakin Dairy on Betts Rd.

Folks needing assistance or planning on donating/coming to help please call our office at 407-846-6221. We are keeping accurate notes with name, location, and type of need so we can get to as many people as possible without sending fence or chainsaw teams to those that have already been assisted.

Hurricane Ian Relief needs:

  • Posts
  • Barbed Wire
  • Staples
  • Hay
  • Range Cubes
  • Chainsaw Bar Oil
  • Chainsaw Fuel
  • Donations to the Florida Cattlemen’s Foundation https://fca.memberclicks.net/foundationdonation
  • FENCE AND CHAINSAW TEAMS: We are receiving requests for assistance out of both the Arcadia and Myakka FCA Hurricane HQ's. Your help is needed. FCA Staff in Kissimmee is coordinating with leaders at both HQ's on the ground. You can be dispatched from either the Kissimmee office or either HQ. We are trying to make sure that we can help as many folks as needed and that we don't double up. We are getting to the point where we need boots on the ground, that need will only grow as the water recedes. If you go to Arcadia or Myakka City and work out of our Hurricane HQ's be prepared to rough it just in case.

Donations can be brought to either the Arcadia or Myakka City drop-off/pick-up locations.  Folks from North Florida can also drop off donated items at the Ocala Stockyard which will be directing supplies to the pick-up locations.
